For a Health Certificate to be valid, you must have an accredited Veterinarian
examine and fill out the health certificate to deem your pet healthy for travel.
Normally, a Health Certificate will be valid for 30 days after being issued. Most
states also require that you have an original copy of the rabies certificate as well. If
you are flying by airline, you should call the specific carrier that you are flying with
to see if they require a Health Certificate.

Here are the requirements for each of the three states that border California:

Flea Free Certificates are required by some property managers when you are
moving out of an apartment to ensure that your pet does not have fleas. This can be
scheduled as a nurse appointment in which the nurse combs through your pet and
looks for any fleas. You will receive a Flea Free Certificate at the end of the visit.
